Wazi Kenya at UNEA-7: Youth Voices on the World Stage

All news and stories

In December 2025, Wazi Kenya represented at the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) in Nairobi, joining 1,000+ young people from 70 countries to advocate for youth engagement in environmental governance.

Our delegation focused on menstrual waste management, an overlooked intersection of health, gender, and environment. We called for policies that address the environmental impact of disposable menstrual products while ensuring girls maintain access to affordable hygiene solutions.

UNEA-7 was a milestone moment for our team, proving that grassroots organizations can have a voice in global policy.

Young people at an outdoor event hold handmade placards, one reading "Humankind be kind" and another about waste management.
