What the programme does

Waste and clean-ups

Community clean-ups, partnership with Nairobi City County workers and waste-stream documentation. This connects to Green the Red and menstrual product disposal.

Climate learning

Climate change awareness modules in the AYP curriculum and Youth Capacity Building. Murals bring climate education into public spaces.

Upcycling and consumption

Creative reuse and behavioural change around consumption and production, built with grassroots youth groups in Kayole, Korogocho and beyond.

Green the Red

Deliberation to Action for Sustainable Menstrual Practices runs across Health and Environment. The programme runs from 2025 to 2026, funded by the European Union and the Big 6 through Global Youth Mobilization (GYM).

Our first cross-pillar programme links the dispenser model to the disposal stream through sustainable product use, waste management, access and affordability, and behavioural change.

Climate action in the community

Mazingira Day Mtaani

A community environment day: clean-ups, tree planting and climate murals with grassroots youth groups across Nairobi.

Seeds of Change

Climate education for children and young people through art-based expression and pledge-making. In Korogocho, young artists made murals about plastic pollution, ocean protection, fossil fuels and climate hope.
